Ostara - Magical Spray

Our Ostara Magical Spray has been created with the energy of the festival in mind. It can be used to enhance the energy within your space or used within your auric field to align and re-balance your vibration to better help you connect with the season and the sabbat.

Our hand blended magical sprays are supplied in amber glass bottles.

Each bottle has been charged and blessed under the energy of the corresponding moon phase then sealed with a silver charm. Each spray has been made with water from both the Red and White Springs found at the sacred Chalice Well in Glastonbury, UK.

Some sprays have both a 100ml and 30ml option. Please ensure you select the correct one before you checkout.

Price is for one bottle.

The Wheel of Year

The Celtic calendar focused on the cyclical change of seasons. The original Celts celebrated four fire festivals, evenly spaced throughout the year, celebrating the transition of the sun throughout the seasons. These include Samhain, Imbolc, Bealtaine and Lughnasadh. These festivals are often combined with the solstices and equinoxes which are thought to be non-Celtic in origin, such as from Germanic Paganism or Neolithic sources. These ‘quarter festivals’ include Yule/Midwinter, Ostara, Litha/Midsummer and Mabon.

Seasonal changes were very important to the agricultural Celts, who depended on the Wheel of the Year to dictate when to plough, sow, harvest, and rest. The turning of the Wheel represents the continuing birth, death and rebirth of nature.

Please note that these dates correspond to the Northern Hemisphere.

When connecting with and celebrating the Wheel of the Year, we attune our energy to the cycles of Mother Earth and the natural world around us.

Samhain - 31st October (Halloween)
- Cross-quarter, Fire Festival
Samhain (SOW-in) represents the final harvest before the long winter. It’s a time to honour our ancestors and embrace the darker half of the year. This also marks the beginning of the New Year in many Pagan traditions.

Yule - 19th - 23rd December (Midwinter, Winter Solstice)
- Quarter Festival, Winter Solstice
Yule marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. From now on, the days become longer and we celebrate the return of the sun back to the earth. Also known as Alban Arthan (the Light of Arthur).

Imbolc - 2nd February (Candlemas)
- Cross-quarter, Fire Festival
Imbolc is a festival of fire and light, and in many Pagan traditions celebrates the Celtic hearth goddess, Brigid. It marks the midpoint between winter and spring. This is a festival of purification, a festival of light and fertility, and new beginnings.

Ostara - 19th - 23rd March (Spring Equinox)
- Quarter Festival, Spring Equinox
Ostara is the celebration of the spring equinox, and is a time to prepare for the beginnings of new life each year. The hours of day and night are equal, and light is overtaking darkness. Also known as Alban Eilir (the Light of the Earth).

Bealtaine - 1st May (May Day)
- Cross-quarter, Fire Festival
Bealtaine is a spring celebration that honours the fertility of the earth. A time of lust, passion, fire, and abundance.

Litha - 19th - 23rd June (Midsummer, Summer Solstice)
- Quarter Festival, Summer Solstice
Litha is the time of the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. It’s a celebration of light’s triumph over darkness and that of the bountiful beauty that light brings into our lives. Also known as Alban Hefin (the Light of the Shore).

Lughnasadh - 1st August (Lammas)
- Cross-quarter, Fire Festival
Lughnasadh (LOO-na-saa) is a celebration in honour of the Celtic god, Lugh. For others, this festival is observed as Lammas, and celebrates the early grain harvest. This is the first harvest festival, when plants drop their seeds to ensure future crops.

Mabon - 19th - 23rd September (Autumn Equinox)
- Quarter Festival, Autumn Equinox
Mabon is a time of thanksgiving that celebrates the second harvest, and the autumn equinox. The days and nights are once again equal, with the night continuing to grow longer. Also known as Alban Elfed (Light of the Water).

Our magical sprays are easy to use by just about anyone.

They can be used within a space, within your auric field, or even over an object. Depending on which spray you have chosen and the properties that resonate with it (uplifting, cleansing, energising, relaxing etc) would normally dictate how you would use it. For example, if you were using a cleansing spray, you could use this to purify ritual or ceremonial tools - whereas you wouldn't use a relaxing spray on your magical tools. Would you?

In a Space

If you are using the spray to bring about a vibration change within a space, we recommend using the spray in each corner of the room (or at the four quarters (compass points)) if the room you are in does not have corners. It is important to keep your intentions clear and strong if you are wanting to making a change vibrationally and energetically using the sprays. An example of this is: If you are clearing negative energy from a room using a cleansing spray, do not let your mind wander to what you are having for dinner that evening. Focus on the task at hand until complete.

In the Aura

If you are using the spray to make a vibration change within the auric field, no matter where in the auric field you want to make that change, simply hold the spray at arms length above your head and spray three times. As the mist from the spray settles onto and into your aura, take a nice deep breath in through the nose - hold it for a few seconds - and then slowly exhale through the mouth. This is the same no matter where in the aura you are trying to make a change - you could do this exercise with the Base Chakra Spray, the Higher Heart Spray or even the Violet Flame Spray. Always above the head. Never use the magical spray directly on the skin.

In Healing

We know that many energy therapists (and physical therapists) use our sprays before, during and after their treatments. Some use it at the beginning of a treatment to help relax their client, some use the sprays during the therapy to help them clear out unwanted energy or affect a change in the space and some use the sprays at the end or after the treatment to ground any excess energy and clear out any negative vibrations ready for their next client. When it comes to working with the sprays on an energetic, magical and healing level we say that the best guide with how to use them is you. You will know intuitively how you wish to work with the sprays. Each therapist is different and each one has their own unique way of working. Trust that which feels right to you.
