Yellow Feather Smudging Dish
It is always advisable to have some form of dish or plate (traditionally a shell) to hold underneath a smudging or cleansing bundle once it is lit. This will stop any rogue embers falling from the bundle and potentially leaving marks on carpet, furniture, clothing or other items.
These deep dishes were created to do just that! Whilst we don't suggest lighting the smudge or herb bundle and leaving it to smoulder in the dish, the depth of the sides allows you to place the lit bundle into it periodically to free up your hand (to use a feather or bells) without the fear of the lit bundle falling to the floor.
Of course it will serve its purpose as catching any lit falling embers too.
